Bicycles, Skates, other Recreational Wheels*, Skateboards and Hover boards**

  • Bicycles shall remain outside the Unions and should be secured to bicycle racks only.
  • Skateboarding, roller skating, hover boards and recreational wheels are prohibited inside the building, on the archway, steps and ADA ramps
  • Individuals engaged in such acts shall be requested to discontinue the activity. Upon refusal, MUPD may be called to assist.
  • Bicycles and all other types of motorized personal vehicle are not allowed to be left within the Missouri Student Unions bicycle racks overnight.  Any bicycle or other type of personal vehicle that has been left at the racks for 10 consecutive nights will be tagged and removed by Unions staff  and stored for 60 days then sent to University of Missouri Surplus Property for auction.

*Recreational Wheels include: in line or other skates, skateboards, bikes, scooters, Segways, wheeled shoes, and similar devices.

** Interim Policy Regarding the Use and Possession of Hover Boards and Similar Devices: Recent information has revealed that the batteries in these devices can be dangerous and are prone to creating a safety and fire risk. The use, possession, or storage of Hover boards, Swagways, IO Hawks, Skywalkers, and similar devices, is prohibited in campus managed facilities until safety standards for them can be developed and implemented, and the prohibition lifted.
