Student Development Opportunities

The Missouri Student Unions is committed to supporting educational growth and career development opportunities. We offer hands-on training for student employees in many specialized areas, such as: Accounting, Cash Handling, Reservations Management, Customer Service, Emergency Procedures, Marketing/Advertising, Inventory Management, Computer Support, and much more! In addition, you are eligible to participate in free developmental training sessions including a Leadership Training workshop and CPR Certification.

University Bookstore Discounts

Various store discounts are available for eligible employees of the Missouri Student Unions. Discounts may be used for products such as Mizzou clothing, gift items, supplies, general reading materials, CD's, movie videos, film development, Clinique products, flowers, plants, and much more!

Flexible Scheduling

All student positions offer flexible scheduling options that work around your class schedule. In addition, most student positions offer a schedule for the entire semester, working around your other commitments.

Social Security (FICA) Exemptions

As a student working for the University of Missouri, social security tax (7.65%) is not deducted from your paycheck while you are enrolled in classes at MU and working as a student employee.

Career Advancement

Opportunity for advancement exists for employees at every level. Student employees who show commitment and excellence will be considered for student management positions.

The Missouri Student Unions values a job well done. Therefore student employees enjoy recognition through the APPLE Program, National Student Employee Appreciation Week, and the end of the year Awards Banquet.
